Taking the plunge

Well, after almost a whole year after release I finally upgraded my personal laptop to Windows 7.  I did the awful thing and did an …. IN PLACE UPGRADE!!!!  The upgrade went very well and things seem snappier.  The whole process took about 2 1/2 hours.  That included backing up my Vista partition.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed that nothing blows up.

One more added to the Dixon crew

Well on Thursday, March 4 at 8:22 am a new edition was added to the Dixons of Tennessee.  Ilaina Joy was 7lbs. 2oz. and 20.5 inches long.

The newness of it all has not worn off of the kids yet, so they are pretty enamored with their new baby sister

Things went good, Miriam was pretty sore afterwards, but since it was a C-Section that is expected.  She is moving around pretty good today (March 7th).  Thankfully both were able to come home on the Saturday after Ilaina was born.

Only From the Mouths of Babes

My wife posted something to Facebook about Isabella that had me laughing pretty hard.

Isabella will be a great mommy. Today she was singing in the van "....and as the Savior passed that way, He looked up in the tree. And He said, "Zaccheus, you're gonna fall and break your neck!"

With this being on Facebook, Leslie (Miriam’s sister) had to tell a story about Bella that happened while the kids were staying with them this past week.

OK...since you brought this up I"ve got to tell the one she did here last week. We were eating and Daddy said something to her and she said "Papa you're so silly". He indicated that he didn't know why she said that and she said "You don't make sense". He said that he didn't know what she meant (because everything he had said did make sense) and so she says "you know..All Have Sense". He still looked confused, but I got it and I said  Bella, sing it to him. She said "you know...All have sense and come short of the glory of God. All have sense and come short of the glory of God..." I cracked up laughing!

Kids, you just never know what they are going to say.

(Oops, just found out a little side effect of the software I’m using.  I noticed some spelling errors in the earlier version of the post, so I fixed them.  Instead of updating the old one it added a new one.  Oh well)

Countdown!

At this point we are less than 24 hours (We have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am.  Do clocks even work then?) away from Ilaina Joy entering the world.  I know that it is a great relief for Miriam to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  She has been very uncomfortable this time around, and to add insult to injury she has had a cold that is just lingering on.  Thankfully her mom is here to help out for a few days.
